    Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Development Manager with strong tax equity financing background for our Solar and Emerging Renewables Group who is responsible for partnering with business unit market leaders in developing and supporting project finance related positioning strategies with existing and potential customers to win project work.  Maintains a diverse knowledge of the solar market with experience in project related due diligence, underwriting and complex financial modeling, including the preparation of cash flow projections, analysis of potential investments.

    Responsibilities

    As a Project Development Manager with a tax equity finance background you will:

    • Underwrite and perform financial analysis for renewable energy investment decisions
    • Assist in analysis of potential investments and preparation of investment committee memos used to evaluate opportunities
    • Develop opinions on the Target Markets by curating research on supply/demand fundamentals and maintaining competitive set analysis for each targeted asset type/submarket
    • Build and maintain comparable sales database related to target markets
    • Support the overall due diligence, transaction and closing process, including legal and asset management
    • Evaluate capitalization and financing strategies
    • Assist in other projects and requests, as required, including but not limited to business development functions
    • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels internal and external to Mortenson, including other Mortenson operating groups

    Qualifications

    We'd Love to Hear from People With:

    • Familiarity with renewable energy project development, finance and execution
    • Strong and extremely proficient background in tax equity
    • Advanced analytical skills, including the proven ability to perform financial modeling using Excel
    • Strong underwriting ability, including deep understanding of renewable energy asset valuation
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to apply analytical skills with attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and team orientation
    • Highly motivated individual and proven interest in renewable energy development and finance
    • Ability to handle multiple deadlines
    • Analytically oriented
    • Comfortable managing varying degrees of ambiguity
    • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

     

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or Finance preferred
    • Minimum three years of experience in renewable energy development and tax equity strongly preferred
