    The Big Picture:

    Mortenson is seeking an Associate Human Resources Specialist to support all aspects of Human Resources administrative support processes. You will provide extraordinary customer service to internal customers as it relates to HR Operations, Total Rewards, and Benefits. Your ability to maintain a strong customer focus is critical to your success in this role.


    What will you be doing?

    • Monitor and troubleshoot HR Service Center questions through various communication methods; phone calls, emails, faxes, mail and voice messages.
    • Audit and conduct data entry and maintenance for personnel changes including employment status and benefit enrollment.
    • Partner with Drug Screening vendor and provide support for drug screens through Mortenson’s Drug and Alcohol program.
    • Conduct, monitor and troubleshoot benefit questions and support for Craft and Non-Craft team members.
    • Complete and maintain Motor Vehicle Report and Driver Qualification files
    • Partner with the HRIS Analyst to assist with testing when system modifications occur.
    • Provide guidance to team member with relocation.
    • Partner with all HR team members to ensure we are delivering accurate information on all questions.
    • l-9 administration
    • Process team member changes and terminations


    How will you succeed?

    • 3 years' experience knowledge of human resources
    • Bi-lingual with English and Spanish preferred
    • Values-centered, team player with strong communication, organization and multi-tasking skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Superior customer service skills
    • Tenacious problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and well organized
    • Desire to work with the sense of “ownership” and “urgency” to see all projects through to completion
    • Open to change based on diverse input and feedback
    • Effectively work with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
    • Adaptive, effective communication and active listening skills
    • Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing at all organizational levels
    • Experience with Oracle, E-Verify, and iCIMS
    • Kowledge of processing team member changes andn terminations
    • Experience working with a Union workforce


    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
