    The Big Picture:

    Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to coordinate management of craft and office personnel, and provide equipment facility oversight. Strong communication skills are necessary as you will coordinate with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success in this role.

    Responsibilities

    What will you be doing?

    • Provide leadership to group field operations
    • Provide leadership of self perform resources and execution
    • Perform central hiring
    • Handle craft labor
    • Mentor and train superintendents and superintendent track engineers
    • Supervise equipment facilities
    • Perform monthly project review which includes: budget, schedule, labor, safety, quality, equipment (hoisting set up and use).
    • Lead team members by example in resourcefulness, self-starting work habits, and problem solving based on information and good judgement
    • Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of appropriate team members

    Other duties, as assigned

    • Implement company and group field initiatives
    • Participate in labor relations activities and issues, estimate reviews, and business development
    • Assist in budget management, writing, and reviewing business plans
    • May provide yard operations oversight and/or act as Construction Executive or Customer Service Leader

    Qualifications

    How do you succeed?

    • Detail orientation sufficient for accurate and timely labor, safety, and quality reports, etc.
    • Knowledge of construction and multiple Mortenson systems (i.e., labor, financial, safety, quality, scheduling, and planning)
    • Microsoft Office skills
    • Positive professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
    • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
    • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
    • Open to change based on diverse input and feedback

    • Minimum of 10 years industry-related or equivalent experience with large projects ($20M+)
    • Current driver’s license 

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or a related field and/or equivalent experience
