    Summary:

    Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Project Clerk/ Material Manager with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues and opportunities as they arise; along with the capability to creatively problem solve and bring together viable solutions. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are vital, with attention to detail equally important.

    Responsibilities

    • Electrical scope material Management (Receive/ Inspect/ Inventory/ Kit/Checkout/ Check In Substation/ Collection/ Transmission Materials)
    • Manage the material staging yard (in close coordination with Project Superintendent and General Foremen for Substation, Transmission, Collection Materials)
    • Receive, ship, track and inspect equipment and deliveries arriving and departing the job site
    • Office space to be provided in either substation office conex or at main laydown yard office trailer (with printers/ scanners/ power & data ports required for completing daily and weekly admin tasks)
    • Have experience with material management/ inventory/ documentation/ inspection processes
    • Ability to support with office tasks (including and not limited to):
      • New craft team member hire process
      • Regular updates with excel tracking logs (data entry, basic excel functions)
      • Support project team as needed on monthly basis for Owner reports (word documents, PowerPoints, gathering reports)
      • Misc. office administrative tasks (as project team requires) throughout the month.

    • Possibility of working with Project Superintendent with weekly craft team member time card data entry

     

    Qualifications

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to work with I-pads, Laptops, Excel Spreadsheets, Material Tracking software/ programs provided by Mortenson
    • Ability to support office tasks
    • Ability to pass drug tests/ driving tests to use Mortenson pickup trucks
    • Ability to work in office and field settings (Southern Texas- Ranch Land) ~ 60% field/ 40% office time
    • Be able to provide own minimum safety required clothing: safety toe work boots, pants, shirts, etc. durable for construction environment. Hard hats, safety classes, safety vests, and other safety equipment to be provided by Mortenson at job site.
    • Self-starter, independent worker, computer literate
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail to organize and manage multiple project tasks
    • Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
    • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
    • Basic knowledge of construction processes, systems, and project management
    • Open to change based on diverse input and feedback
    • Minimum of three years related construction experience in either a supportive or quality assurance role
    • Current driver's license
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

     Education:

    • Associates or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
